How to bring balance, clarity and focus with simple everyday exercises.
Hello my wonderful,
In today’s post I want to show you how to combine therapeutic art and meditation exercises into your daily routine to boost your well-being. Here are 3 simple exercises:
1. Scribble away!
Scribbling is really good for stress relief. You may have caught yourself doing it anyway, while talking on the phone or when you are trying to concentrate. Is this art? You may ask. Does it matter? I will say. What matters is that this exercise helps you release tension so you can be more relaxed and focused. So do this intentionally. Start with a blank sheet of paper and some crayons or markers. Allow yourself to scribble freely without any intention or direction.
2. Eat mindfully today
I suggest that you do this when you eat on your own, if possible. Decide that you will be Eating for Presence and think of eating as a task today. During your meal, focus on the flavors, textures, and sensations of the food. Enjoy the experience! This will help your focus and though it sounds simple, it can be tricky, I assure you!
3. Listen!
You know what is also difficult but also really powerful? Mindful listening. Fully engaging in the act of listening can improve your ability to focus and be present. So close your eyes, and take a moment to really listen to the sounds around you, whether it’s the sounds of the street, music or nature’s creatures. Submerge in the world around you and try to focus on one sound at a time.
So here you go, try these and let me know if you noticed any difference in how you felt and your capacity to focus!
Lots of love,

The Art of Letting Go: 3 Ways you can Use Art to Release the Past and Embrace the Future
The past is a force that can hold us back from moving forward and embracing the future. Memories, regrets, and attachments to certain people or experiences can weigh us down and prevent us from living in the present. But what if I told you that through the art of letting go, you could release the past and create space for a brighter future? And what better way to do so than through the power of art and creativity?
The past is a force that can hold us back from moving forward and embracing the future. Memories, regrets, and attachments to certain people or experiences can weigh us down and prevent us from living in the present. But what if I told you that through the art of letting go, you could release the past and create space for a brighter future? And what better way to do so than through the power of art and creativity?
Art has always been a means of expression and release for many people. It allows us to convey our emotions, thoughts, and experiences in a tangible form. And when it comes to letting go, art can be a powerful tool to help us confront and release the past in a healthy and cathartic way.
OK, so here are some ways in which you can use art to let go and embrace the future:
1. Create a visual representation of your past
One of the first steps in letting go is acknowledging the past. Take some time to reflect on a specific memory, and try to create a visual representation of it. This could be a painting, a collage, or even a sculpture. Let your emotions guide your creation and don't be afraid to be vulnerable. By putting your past into a physical form, you are externalizing it and making it easier to confront and release.
2. Create a vision board for the future
After releasing the past, it's important to focus on creating a vision for the future. A vision board is a visual representation of your goals, dreams, and aspirations. It can be a powerful tool to help you stay motivated and focused on the future. Gather images, quotes, and words that represent what you want to achieve and create a collage or painting. Place it somewhere you can see it every day as a reminder of your future goals.
3. Let go of perfectionism
When creating art for healing and transformation, it's important to let go of perfectionism. Art is not about creating a perfect masterpiece, but rather about expressing yourself and your emotions. Don't worry about making mistakes or creating something that others will judge. The process is what matters, not the end result.
So here you are. Although the art of letting go is not an easy one, it is a necessary step towards embracing change and making space for the future.
There are so many ways to start making positive life changes so you can start living your dream life, but in a world of endless lifestyle and self-improvement choices (should I do yoga? should I meditate? should I cleanse?), I stand by the Art of Transformation framework. By using art as a tool, you can confront and release the past in a healthy and creative way. You can let go of what no longer serves you, so you can embrace the present and look forward to a brighter future, towards accomplishing your goals and aligning with your inner self.

5 Reasons why Affirmations are powerful
Affirmations are positive statements that you repeat to yourself regularly, either out loud or in your mind. And they are powerful. They are such powerful tools that they can actually help you achieve your goals. They boost your confidence, and improve your well-being.
Affirmations are positive statements that you repeat to yourself regularly, either out loud or in your mind. And they are powerful. They are such powerful tools that they can actually help you achieve your goals. They boost your confidence, and improve your well-being. So if you love lists, here are five reasons why affirmations are so powerful:
1) Affirmations can change your mindset.
And this is scientifically proven. There are many studies that have shown the benefits of affirmations for various aspects of life, such as health, happiness, success, and relationships. By repeating affirmations, you can reprogram your subconscious mind and replace negative thoughts with positive ones. This can help you overcome limiting beliefs and create a more optimistic outlook on life. Try it!
2) Affirmations can motivate you.
By affirming your abilities, strengths, and values, you focus on the amazing parts of you. This then can increase your self-esteem and you feel more confident. You are more ready to pursue your dreams and overcome challenges, like, for instance, those who indirectly send you signals that you cannot do it, or to stay put and not grow. A study showed that practising affirmations actually allowed people to respond less defensively to negative feedback.
3) Affirmations can influence your behavior.
By aligning your affirmations with your goals, you can reinforce your commitment and intention to take action. This can be really important when you try to form new habits, break old patterns, and make positive changes in your life. When for example I was trying to quit smoking, I told myself that I am not a smoker, and that I have the support I need from my nicotine patch. This was enough even when I did not have a nicotine patch on me!
4) Affirmations can attract what you want.
Have you heard of the Law of Attraction? By expressing your gratitude, appreciation, and desire, you can align your vibration with the frequency of your ideal reality, not just what you really wish for, but what your Higher Self knows that is a ‘want’ aligned with your Truth. Affirmations that align with your inner Truth, your values and the Divine within you, can help you manifest more opportunities, resources, and people that support your vision and purpose.
5) Affirmations can improve your health.
It comes, perhaps, as no surprise then that by affirming your wellness, happiness, and peace, you reduce stress and anxiety. And this is good for your health!
So there you go, here are five key reasons why affirmations are powerful. By practicing affirmations daily, you can create a positive feedback loop that empowers you to achieve your goals and live your best life. Now, can these affirmations be artful and creative? Or do they have to be yellow post-it notes on the mirror? That’s a whole new blog, and basically one of the key elements in the Art of Transformation programmes, using art and creativity for affirmations too!
Before that though, in the next blog, I am going to give you 5 example of powerful affirmations!
Lots of love,
Dr Artemis x
