  • How change happens

    There are several models and theories that can help analyze life changes and assess readiness for change, such as the GROW model and the Transtheoretical Model, also known as the Stages of Change model. Regardless of their details, the key idea is that people are going through stages when they want to change a behaviour or aspects of their life. Transformation is a process, and each stage requires courage, commitment, and determination.

    Contemplating change
    From your answers it appears that you are currently in the contemplation stage. This means that you are considering making changes in your life but are not quite ready. People in this stage seek knowledge and additional encouragement before they engage in behavior change. Usually people at the stage of “I might change this behavior/aspect of my life” hoping to enter the preparation stage need to first find what motivates them, and what obstacles are there.   • Where to start

    The journey towards real change and self-discovery typically involves about 3 months of preparation, followed by the Actions stage from month 3 to 6. This is where successful lifestyle changes can be achieved, even in the face of setbacks. As your keep developing your skills, your confidence, your ability to cope with the unexpected, you will continue to grow.
